AMIGOS
AMIGOS is a Personal Health and Social Education project developed by Southend United Community & Educational Trust and supported by Insure and Go.
AMIGOS stands for:
Attitude, Motivation, Independence, Growth, Opportunity, Self Esteem.
The project has been specially designed to help Primary and Secondary School Pupils deal with key issues in their lives, including:

Healthy Eating
-
Dealing with stress
-
Influence of friends and groups of friends(gangs)
-
Aspirations
-
How to keep safe, ie drugs, internet / mobile bullying, being alone
-
Importance of exercise and rest (sleep) for physical & mental health

Also how to help young people:
-
Be able to identify their strengths
-
Be able to state a possible career for themselves

Begin to understand how friends can effect their feelings
-
Begin to understand how good friends can support positive and healthy choices
AMIGOS is held over a 5-week period as part of the school curriculum.
