Fit for Caring is a fun healthy lifestyle programme designed just for carers.
Have a break from caring, socialise and have fun whilst keeping healthy.
Based upon the Award winning Blues Fit for Life programme. Fit for Caring will improve the health and physical activity levels of carers - children, young people and adults.
Each Fit for Caring ‘Season’ will consist of 5 weekly sessions of up to 90 minutes duration.
There will be two separate sessions, one for young people and one for adults, as both groups will have differing requirements in terms of activity.
These sessions are intended for the young carers.
The weekly sessions combine theory and practical activities to exercise both mind and body and are delivered by qualified and experienced staff members.
Over five sessions the programme will help you maintain a healthy lifestyle; the sessions will include:
Football
Basketball
Circuit Training
Street Dance
Mind & Body
Sarah Potts, Health & Well Being Officer, Southend United Community & Educational Trust:
‘’1 in 4 of us are carers in some form or another so it is important that we maintain our own health and well being, so that we can help those we care for. Fit for Caring will combine fun physical sessions with great advice on nutrition and how to get help if needed"
