How Trusts Can Help

Working with trusts and foundations

Grant-making trusts and foundations provide much needed support for our work with children and young people. Although a lot of our income derives from subscription based activities and statutory sources, donations from grant-making trusts allow us to develop new and interesting ways of working with disadvantaged young people that meet their particular and individual needs.

In the past two years, donations from trusts and foundations have allowed us to:

  • Succesfully pilot our "Getting on with the Blues" citizenship programme to over 2,000 children
  • Ensure nursery and primary School children have a healthy start to the day at a Blues Breakfast Club
  • See young people develop self esteem through the "GOALS Life Skills" project
  • Ensure children and young people have fun, physical activity after school and during holiday periods
  • Engage with Senior Citizens through the Senior Shrimpers Club
  • Realise the potential that exists within individuals that may have special needs or a disability

If you are a Trustee or know of a trust that may support our work, we would be very pleased to hear from you. Please contact Ben Duncan for more information.

Here are some examples of how your trust or foundation could help us:

£150 could help provide fruit and cereals and a fun physical activity at a Blues Breakfast Club

£500 could help us deliver a 6-week programme of "Getting on with the Blues" to a class of Primary School Children, giving young people an understanding of the effects of anti-social behaviour on their community

£1,000 could help us deliver a 6-week Blues BodyCare programme to a class of Primary school children and a class of Infant School Children, ensuring young people understand the benefits of a healthy lifestyle

£3,000 could help us run additional Multi-Skills activities such as Dance or Drama

£5,000 could help us recruit, train and support 5 additional Casual Coaches to deliver after school sessions

£7,500 could help support additional Inclusion Projects such as Disability Football Teams

£10,000 could help support the costs of specialist tutors to address specific needs of young people
